We offer the insurance in collaboration with ERGO. They'll hande your information with care, of course. Read how they do that.

Will the warranty of the ERGO insurance be added to the standard 2-year warranty?

You always receive a 2-year warranty on your purchase from us. With an ERGO insurance, you can extend this and you also have extra coverage during the first 2 years, If you pay your premium 3 years in advance, you have 1 extra year of warranty in addition to the standard 2 years. With an ERGO insurance, your also insured for damage that isn't covered by the warranty, such as accidents, water damage, fall damage, or impact damage.

Does the insurance also cover damage abroad?

Yes, damage that happens abroad is also covered by the insurance. Keep in mind that you always notify us of the damage first.

For a complete overview of what is and isn't insured, always check the IPID (insurance card) or the Terms and Conditions of your ERGO insurance.

Can I also insure a product for business use against damage?

With insurances for computer equipment (laptops and tablets) and mobile phones, damage during business use is covered. In the case of other products, damage, loss, and/or theft during business use isn't covered.

For a complete overview of what is and isn't insured, always check the IPID (insurance card) or the Terms and Conditions of your ERGO insurance.

What happens if the payment of your premium is unsuccessful?

If the premium of a Backup Plan that can be canceled monthly isn't paid in time, you'll get a reminder via email and a message that there'll be a second attempt. If that payment is unsuccessful as well, the Backup Plan will be canceled.

When does your insurance expire?

Generally, the insurance lasts until it's cancelled either by you or by us. You can cancel an insurance with a fixed term yearly, no later than 3 months before the end of each year that your insurance is in effect. You can cancel a monthly insurance every month, with a 7-day cancellation period. To do this, send an email to verzekeringen@coolblue.be. If you don't cancel your insurance early, we can do this, up to 3 months before your pre-paid period expires.

When will the premium be debited?

The first payment of a monthly-cancellable Backup Plan will be debited a couple of days after your purchase. After that, we'll debit the amount on a monthly basis. You'll pay for the premium of your insurance monthly in advance via direct debit.
The premium for a Backup Plan with a fixed term is paid directly at purchase.

When is my product insured?

Your insurance is active from the moment you receive your product. You'll be covered when you've received your product and successfully made your first premium payment.

How high is my premium?

The amount of your premium depends on the type of product and the purchase value. You can find the exact premiums on the product page of your desired purchase.

How does the premium payment work?

The agreed premium for a Backup Plan with a fixed term has to be paid for when entering into the insurance agreement. You can pay in cash or electronically. You pay the monthly premium of your monthly cancelable Backup Plan via direct debit 1 month in advance. The first premium payment will be debited within 7 days from the bank account you've provided. If the payment is unsuccessful, we'll send you a payment reminder.
