Which size freezer fits in your home?

When you buy a freezer, it's important that you know where you want to place the appliance. Keep in mind the height, depth, and width. In this article, we'll help you choose the right freezer size.

Follow these steps to find out which freezer size you need:

  1. Determine the location of the freezer.
  2. Measure the width of that spot.
  3. Measure the height.
  4. Measure the depth.
  5. Leave some extra space.
  6. Make sure the door can open freely.
  7. Check the route.

Step 1: determine where the freezer will be placed

You first have to determine the location of the freezer. Choose the size of the appliance based on that location. If you have little space, you need a compact freezer or upright freezer. A chest freezer won't fit, for example.

Measure the width of the future location of the freezer. Do you have a laminate or wooden floor? Take the baseboard into account, because you don't measure that. This way, you can be sure that the appliance will be level. Take possible sloping walls into account as well.
