What do you do if your washer dryer combination is leaking?
Solve washer dryer combination leak
A leaking washer dryer combination can have various causes. First check where it's coming from.
- The supply or drain hose is leaking.
- The drain pipe is leaking.
- The door doesn't close properly.
- You have a blocked drain.
- The detergent drawer is leaking.
- There's a tear in the cuff.
- The drain filter leaks.
- There's a leak inside the washer dryer combination.
The supply or drain hose is leaking
First check if the supply hose is connected to the washer dryer combination and water supply properly. Then check if the drain hose is connected properly. Is everything connected properly? Check if the supply hose or drain hose are damaged. Is something broken? Replace the hose as soon as possible.
Drain pipe is leaking
Is there water underneath the drain pipe? Check if the drain hose is put too deep into the drain pipe. First, put a bucket underneath the drain and remove the hose. Gently put it back in to the drain, but not deeper than 15cm. If you want to be sure you don't put in the drain hose too deep, use a support bracket.
Door doesn't close properly
Is there water seeping through the front at the door? The door of the washer dryer combination isn't shut properly. That's often because there's some laundry stuck between the drum and the door. Turn off the washer dryer combination, and close the water supply. Take the plug out of the socket. Then, slightly tilt the machine backwards for 1 minute. Gently put the washer dryer combination back in place an put the plug back into the socket. Turn the appliance on again and open the door to take the laundry out of the drum.
Drain clogged
In case of a clogged drain, first clean the siphon. Take a bucket and put it under the siphon. Then, drain the water and dirt. Connect the siphon again afterwards. Fill a bucket with baking soda and boiling water. Remove the drain hose from the drain and slowly pour the soda water down the hose with a funnel to clean deeper blockages. Wait a few minutes and test if the drain is unblocked by running water through it. Isn't that the case? Use a drain snake to remove the blockage.
Detergent drawer is leaking
Water might not properly run through the detergent drawer due to detergent or fabric softener buildup. As a result, the detergent drawer can leak. You can solve this by cleaning the soap container. Remove the drawer from the washer dryer combination and rinse it under the faucet. Remove stubborn soap residue with a sponge.
Tear in the cuff
Is there water at the front of the washer dryer combination, but isn't there laundry between the door? It's possible the cuff is broken. That's the gray rubber ring around the opening of the drum. Is there a tear or a loose piece? Contact the supplier.
Water from the bottom of the washer dryer combination
Does your washer dryer combination leak at the bottom? Check if the drain filter is properly in place on the bottom right. Open the hatch and firmly twist the filter. If it's already properly closed, there might be a leak on the inside of the appliance. If the washer dryer combination doesn't have a bottom leak sensor or overfill protection, the water supply won't stop on its own. If this is the case, fully close the water supply and unplug the appliance from the socket. Afterwards, contact the supplier for the help of a technician.
