Everything on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 video cards

Want to get the most out of your favorite PC games? In that case, you need a powerful video card. The RTX 20 series is the most powerful NVIDIA GeForce series of the moment. You can upgrade your computer with it and be ready for the future. In this article, we'll tell you all about the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, 2080, 2070, 2060, and the NVIDIA Super models.

Why choose an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 video card?

The GeForce RTX 20 video cards are the successors to the GeForce GTX 10 series. As games become bigger and more demanding, these cards have a higher clock speed and faster memory than the 10 series. For the RTX series, a higher number means a more powerful video card. The RTX 20 graphics are aimed at ray tracing. This is a technique that make lighting and reflections appear much more realistic in your games, which provides an almost cinematic effect.

What are NVIDIA RTX Super video cards?

NVIDIA RTX Super video cards

NVIDIA's latest RTX Super video cards are, in turn, the successor to the 'regular' RTX 20 GPUs. The RTX 2080, 2070, and 2060 all got a Super version. These Super versions are much more powerful than their predecessors, but they're not much more expensive. More powerful means they have a higher clock speed and/or more cores. The 'regular' RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 make way for the Supers. The RTX 2060 will stay for now.

GeForce RTX 2080 Ti: smooth gaming in VR and 4K

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is the cream of the crop of the video cards. This is the most powerful GeForce model on the market today. In terms of performance, this video card easily beats the GTX 1080 Ti, the gem of the previous generation. On average, the RTX 2080 Ti gets 10 to 30 fps more on all resolutions. You'll get 60 fps at a 4K resolutions in virtually all games. This comes at a price, but with the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, you'll be set for the coming years to play VR and 4K games at the highest settings.

The 2080 has come to an end and the 2080 Super is taking over. But not to worry, as the Super has the same price as the 2080, with 128 extra CUDA cores, a higher bandwidth, and a more than 100MHz higher clock speed. You can play virtually any game in QHD resolution at 60 fps with this. Your games run smoothly in 4K when you play games like Apex Legends and Grid 2019, and even VR games aren't too demanding for the 2080 Super.

GeForce RTX 2070 (Super): game in QHD at 60 fps

The 2070 Super is the successor to the RTX 2070. The Super model has 256 extra CUDA cores and the clock speed is 150MHz higher. And all for the same price. It does consume more energy, though. The RTX 2070 Super is powerful enough for VR gaming, 4K gaming for some games, and a steady high framerate with Full HD and QHD. And of course, like with all RTX 20 video cards, this one uses ray tracing, which improves shadows and light incidence in your games.

GeForce RTX 2060 (Super): many games in QHD, all in Full HD

Contrary to the other chipsets, the 2060 and the 2060 Super will both stay on the market. The 2060 is more affordable than the 2060 Super, but it has 256 fewer CUDA cores and 2GB less VRAM. The 2060 also has GDDR5 memory and the Super has the faster GDDR6. You can use both video cards to play the latest games in Full HD and some older ones in QHD. The 2060 is the affordable entry-level card of the RTX 20 series. The 2060 Super is as well, but it has a much higher clock speed.
