What's a Coolblue smartphone insurance?

Are you looking for a new smartphone and are you considering an insurance for your new device? We have different options at Coolblue. With our Protection Plans, you're insured against fall and impact damage, for example. In this article, we'll tell you everything about smartphone insurances.

How does a smartphone insurance benefit you?

With a Coolblue smartphone insurance, you cover all costs that aren't covered by the standard 2-year warranty. You're insured for fall, impact, or water damage. Did you drop your insured smartphone and did the screen crack? You won't have to pay for the repairs. Do you want to insure your smartphone against theft as well? Choose the Protection Plan with theft coverage. You don't have to pay a deductible for Coolblue Protection Plans.

Which insurances are there?

You can choose from 2 types of insurances when buying a smartphone at Coolblue: the standard Protection Plan and the more extensive Protection Plan with theft coverage. In the table below, you can see the differences between these plans. You can choose between a fixed 2-year period or a 5-year period you can cancel monthly for both insurances. Choosing the last option? You can insure your smartphone for up to 5 years. The price of an insurance differs per smartphone. You can see the rates when you add a smartphone to your shopping cart.

How do you insure your smartphone?

Insure smartphone

You can only insure your smartphone right when you're buying it from us. It's not possible to take out an insurance after purchase. When you add your smartphone to your shopping cart, you'll see a screen with our insurance packs and rates. Choose the insurance you want and check out. That way, you've insured your new smartphone.

Insure your device after purchase?

AppleCare+ Samsung Care+

Apple and Samsung also offer insurances. Apple calls this AppleCare+. Samsung has Samsung Care+. You can't buy these insurances at Coolblue. You'll have to do so yourself via Apple or Samsung within 60 days after you buy your iPhone or Samsung smartphone. With AppleCare+, you insure your iPhone for 2 years by default, but it won't cover theft. Samsung offers a choice between different insurances of 1 or 2 years, just like Coolblue.

Note: AppleCare+ for iPhone models isn't available in Belgium. Refurbished iPhone models won't be covered by AppleCare+ either.
