Tip 1: make 7 cups of coffee at first use
When you're going to use your coffee machine for the first time, the brewing system needs time to properly adjust itself. That's why the first cups of coffee you make with a fully automatic coffee machine may be watery. Make 5 to 7 cups of coffee to get your coffee machine going. Does it still taste watery after that? Follow the tips below
Tip 2: adjust the grind size
You can find the grind size button in the bean hopper. Use it to set how coarsely or finely you want to grind the beans. The more finely you grind the beans, the stronger the coffee tastes. If you remove the lid from the bean hopper, you'll see numbers next to the button. The lower the number, the more finely it grinds the beans. Turn the dial to a lower number, but never go from 4 to 1, for example. You have to adjust it in small steps. And make sure to coffee machine is grinding when you turn the dial to prevent it from breaking.
Tip 3: adjust the coffee strength
You can usually recognize the button to adjust the coffee strength by the coffee bean icon. Set it to a higher setting to make your coffee stronger. The coffee machine will grind more coffee beans for your cup as a result.
Tip 4: adjust the cup size
Is the option to adjust the amount of water listed in the menu of your coffee machine? Set it to a smaller amount. The coffee machine will then use less water to make your cup of coffee. It'll have a stronger flavor as a result.
Tip 5: clean the brew group
If the brew group is very dirty, it won't work properly. That's why you have to clean the brew group thoroughly, every week. The brew group is on the inside of your coffee machine, at the front or side of your machine. Don't know how to clean it? Check out our useful video instructions.
Tip 6: clean the coffee funnel
When the coffee funnel is dirty, the coffee machine won't work properly. Turn off the machine and remove the brew group. Open the pre-ground coffee compartment and thoroughly clean the outlet of the coffee funnel with the handle of a spoon. Move the handle of the spoon down and up again to clear the coffee funnel. Then, make a cup of coffee. Check if there are still coffee residue in the coffee funnel. If so, repeat the steps.
