Tip 1: leave 20cm free space around the device
To make the best or your air purifier, it's important you place it in a central spot. In the middle of your living room isn't really convenient, but don't place it in a corner or behind furniture. That's because the air purifier needs enough space to suck in air. It's smart to leave at least 20cm open around the air purifier.
Tip 2: turn on the purifier 24 hours per day
During the day, new pollution get in the air. Pollen might get in when you open the front door, and dust flies up when you sit on the couch, for example. To purify the air as optimally as possible, it's important the purifier is on all the time. Always set an air purifier to the highest setting when you're not in the room. That way, it won't distract you, and it cleans the room effectively.
Tip 3: keep out the polluted air
When your air purifier has cleaned the air, it's important that the air remains clean. That's why you should keep windows and doors closed as much as possible. This prevents "polluted" air from entering the room. If you often go in and outside of the house, you take new air particles with you from outside. In this case, you won't notice much of a difference if you use of an air purifier. The air purifier may also make more noise, because it's working hard to clean all the pollutants in the air.
Tip 4: keep the purifier clean
To purify the air optimally, it's important that the air purifier is dust-free. You don't want the purified air to pick up the dust that's on the air purifier. Going over it with a dust cloth during your weekly cleaning routine is enough. We also recommend to clean the pre-filter every 2 weeks. This filters collects the largest dust particles, before the air reaches the other filters. You can easily clean this filter with the vacuum.
Tip 5: replace the filters
Most air purifiers use filters to clean the air. After a while, these filters are saturated. To make the purifier function optimally, you have to replace the filters. It differs per air purifier how often you need to do so. Some air purifiers have an indicator that notifies you when you need to replace the filters, but not all air purifiers have this. In the manual of your air purifier, you can find an estimate of the lifespan of the filters.
