Advice on sawing machines
Radial arm saw
If you use the right saw blade, a radial arm saw is the ideal tool for when you have to saw wooden bars, aluminum, or laminate. You often saw slanted, miter, or even double bevel with a radial arm saw. You can't saw very wide pieces with a radial arm saw, but you can do this partially if your radial arm saw has a pull function.
Job examples:
- Saw laminate (across the width).
- Shorten fence posts.
- Saw baseboards that end in the corner of the room miter.
Jigsaw
A jigsaw is ideal if you want a machine that offers fine cuts and a great maneuverability. If you want to saw figures in plywood sheets, round corners, or remove 'cuts' from the wood or aluminum, you can use a jigsaw. A jigsaw often has a blow function and a connector for a construction vacuum.
Job examples:
- Saw the hole of the sink in a countertop.
- Shorten PVC pipes.
- Saw figures in plywood sheets.
Circular saw
With a circular saw, you can saw wood, aluminum, or plastic with the right saw blade. You can use it for longer cuts in larger materials. You can also easily take a circular saw with you to jobs on location. For the precise work, we recommend guide rails. Choose a plunge saw if you want to create cutouts. Lower the saw blade in the middle of a plate, and start to saw.
Job examples:
- Sawing wooden planks (both in width and length)
- Sawing window frames in miter
- Sawing large plates of material
Reciprocating saw
A reciprocating saw is suitable for rough and precise sawing jobs. Think of cutting through thick branches or plastic and metal pipes. Thanks to the design, this type of saw is suitable for sawing in places with little space. This allows you to use it in difficult angles or to precisely saw pipes that are placed closely to the wall. A reciprocating saw works on the power grid or with a battery.
Job examples:
- Saw pipes that are located close to the wall.
- Trim thick branches.
Saw blades
Every saw job is different. Sometimes you saw soft woods such as fire wood or pinewood, and the next time you have to saw hardwood like mahogany or cherry. There's also the option to saw plastic or aluminum. That's why you should choose the right saw blade for every job. Make sure to keep the number of teeth of the blade in mind too, in addition to the material you want to saw. This determines the coarseness of the cut.
