1. Is your barbecue still stable

When you gill, you work with high temperatures. That's what it's important to be safe. Make sure the barbecue is still stable. Never put it on artificial grass or regular grass, but on firm tiles. Do the wheels or the underframe wobble? Make sure you twist the screws tightly. Isn't your BBQ level and can't you correct it? In that case, it's time for a new barbecue.

I case you have a barbecue, it's smart to make sure the ignition system still works. If it's a pedestal model, it's important to make sure the pillar in which you light the fire doesn't have holes in it. Do you have a briquette starter? Make sure if the handle is still firmly in place. If you have a gas barbecue, turn on the barbecue and make sure the flames that come from the burners are constant.

Did the grill rack scare you when you opened the barbecue? Maybe it had large rust spots or a thick layer of dust or cobwebs. Clean the rack with a brush, water, and a bit of soap. Be careful with an abrasive sponge, because it can damage the top layer. Can't clean the rack anymore? Simply replace the rack and you can enjoy your barbecue for years.

5. Did you air your BBQ?

Is your barbecue clean? Great. Don't put the cover back on the barbecue right away, but allow it to air for a while. This way, the barbecue dries evenly, and you don't have to worry about condensation and mold on your barbecue or cover. Also reverse the cover and wipe it down with a cloth once in a while.
