How do you get your JURA D6 ready for use?
Get started with your JURA D6
In the video, you'll see how to get the coffee machine ready for use step by step. It takes 10 minutes in total. We'll go through these steps with you:
- Step 1. Turn on the machine
- Step 2. Set the water hardness
- Step 3. Set the water filter
- Step 4. Rinse the machine
You need:
- Coffee beans
- Water hardness test strip
- Water filter
- Container with 1L capacity
Step 1: connect the coffee machine
1: put the coffee beans in the bean hopper. 2: plug the adapter into the socket. 3: turn on the coffee machine. 4: the display shows 'sprache de'. 5: turn the left switch until you see the desired language on the display. 6: press the switch to confirm your choice.
Step 2: adjust the water hardness
1.: test the water hardness with the included test strip. 2: dip the test strip in a glass of water for 2 seconds. 3: wait 1 minute until you see a couple of red bars appear. 4: you'll see 'water hardness' on the display. 5: turn the dial to select the right water hardness. 6: a single red bar means 5gh, 2 red bars mean 10dh, 3 red bars mean 15dh, 4 red bars mean 20dh, and 5 red bars mean 25dh. 7: press the dial to confirm your choice.
Step 3: set the water filter
1: the display shows 'insert filter'. 2: take the water tank out of the machine. 3.: place the water filter in the water tank. 4: fill the water tank up to 'MAX'. 5: place the water tank back into the machine. 6: the display shows 'open switch'. 7: place a container with a capacity of at least 1L under the coffee and hot water outlet. 8: turn the right switch to the steaming function. 9: water flows out of the machine. 10. 'Close switch' appears on the display. 11: turn the right switch to the 'I' setting.
Step 4: rinse the machine
1: the display shows 'empty tray'. 2: remove the container from under the coffee outlet and empty it. 3: remove the drip tray and coffee grounds container. 4: empty both parts and place them back. 5: place the empty container under the coffee outlet again. 6: turn the right switch back open to the steaming function. 7: the machine is being rinsed again. 8: remove the container. 10: your JURA D6 is now ready for use.
How often do you clean your JURA coffee machine?
You can prevent blockages and defects with your JURA D6 if you clean the coffee machine on time. That way, you get the best coffee and take care of the coffee machine in a hygienic way. This is how you maintain it:
- Clean the milk system daily
- Clean the brew group every 1.5 month
- Replace the water filter every 3 months
- Descale it every 2 years (with a water filter)
