Get started on organizing your fridge
With the tips below, you can quickly find the right layout for your fridge.
- Tip 1. Place pots and salads at the top of the fridge
- Tip 2. Store leftovers in the middle of the fridge
- Tip 3. Store meat and vegetables at the bottom of the fridge
- Tip 4. Place mayonnaise and medication in the fridge door
Tip 1: place pots and salads at the top of the fridge
The top shelf is about 6°C. This is perfect for bread salads and products in opened pots, such as dried tomatoes. It's also a good place to store soda and beer in a bottle rack, for example.
Tip 2: store leftovers in the middle of the fridge
The temperature of the middle shelves in the fridge is between 4 and 6°C. This is the ideal temperature for sauces, cheese, yesterday's leftovers, and eggs.
Tip 3: store meat and vegetables at the bottom of the fridge
The bottom of the fridge is the coolest, about 4°C. This is the best temperature to store meat and fish. You can put your vegetables and fruits in the bottom vegetable drawers.
Tip 4: place mayonnaise and medication in the fridge door
And finally, there's the fridge door. This is the warmest part of your fridge. At the top, you can store butter and medication. A little lower you can put your salad dressing and mayonnaise. At the bottom of the door, you can put dairy products like milk, yogurt, and whipped cream.
