Tip 1. Clean the dust collector as often as possible
If you don't empty and clean the dust collector often, it'll negatively affect the lifespan of your stick vacuum. It's also less easy to use. Vacuuming with a full dust cup increases the risk of damage to your filter. In addition, it reduces suction power of the stick vacuum. So empty the dust cup as often as possible. Preferably, after every cleaning job. You should occasionally clean the dust cup with a dry cloth. This prevents dirt from building up.
Tip 2. Clean the filter monthly
Maintaining the exhaust filter is important for the condition of your stick vacuum as well. That's because the dust builds up in the filter, so the exhaust air becomes dirty. That's why you should clean the filter once a month. If you vacuum on a daily basis, you have to replace the filter once every 6 months. In the manual of your vacuum, you can read how to easily replace it and check if the filter is washable.
Tip 3. Charge your vacuum cleaner properly
Follow these 3 tips to increase your battery lifer:
-
Fully charge the battery before the first use. Only use it for the first time after it's fully charged.
-
Never allow the battery to fully run out. This prevents wear and tear.
-
Don't leave the battery in the charger for too long when it is full. This also prevents wear and tear.
With normal use, you won't have to replace the battery soon. But, an extra battery can be useful. This way, you double the battery life.
