How do you maintain your Siemens washing machine?
Siemens washing machine maintenance
Regularly clean your Siemens washing machine. You can do so as follows:
1: clean the empty drum at 90°C. 2: rinse the detergent drawer. 3: clean the door seal with a wet cloth. 4: empty the drain filter at the bottom of the washing machine.
Clean drum
To remove musty odors which come from detergent residue and bacteria, you can clean the drum every month. You can use the drum cleaning cycle for that, if your washing machine has one. If you don't have this option, you can select the 90°C cotton cycle. Make sure the drum is empty, and don't use detergent. When the drum cleaning is done, you can open the door.
Rinse detergent drawer
Do you have a self-cleaning detergent drawer? Clean the drawer manually every few months. That way, you prevent soap residue from building up, so your laundry doesn't get musty and greasy. Gently pull out the detergent drawer. If there's an insert in the container, push it out. Clean the soap container and the insert in warm water, and use a brush or wet cloth. Dry both parts, and place them back.
Clean i-DOS detergent drawer
Clean the detergent drawer of an intelligentDosing washing machine every time you switch the type of detergent or fabric softener. Pull the drawer open and remove the front with the lock on the inside. Remove the gray caps and empty the drawer with the container underneath. Remove the drawer with the lock at the top left. Gently release the top. Thoroughly rinse the drawer and protect the blue part at the back from water. Dry the drawer and the lid, and place them back in the washing machine. Also place the caps and front back.
Wipe door seal
Dirt and grease can build up in the gray door seal around the drum opening. To avoid bad odors, you can regularly clean the door seal. You can do that with hot water and some dish soap. Wipe the ring with a wet cloth. Also go over the inside of the ring. Also dry the seal thoroughly.
Emptying the drain filter
You have to clean the drain filter at least 2 times per year. Have a towel and a container ready. Open the lid at the bottom of the washing machine and move the tube outwards. This way, you drain the water. Afterwards, unscrew the filter and collect the rest of the water. Clean the compartment behind the lid with a wet cloth. Twist the filter and filter cover back in place. Make sure the handle is placed vertically. Place the tube back and close the lid.
