How do you descale your Nespresso Vertuo Plus?

We'll explain how you can descale your Vertuo Plus and Plus Deluxe in 3 steps. We'll go through these steps:

• Step 1. Prepare the descaling
• Step 2. Start the descaling
• Step 3. Rinse the machine

You need:

• 1L container
• Nespresso descaler or a universal descaler

1. The coffee button colors green and red.
2. Open the machine and let the used coffee capsule fall into the container.
3. Close the machine.
4. Push the lever down for 3 seconds to turn off the machine.
5. Empty the container for capsules and empty the drip tray.
6. Fill the water tank with 500ml water.
7. Add a descaling agent.
8. Push the lever down and press the coffee button for 3 seconds.
9. The coffee button now turns orange.
10. Press the lever down once.

1. Put a container of at least 1L underneath the coffee outlet.
2. Press the coffee button once.
3. The machine now rinses with the descaling agent.
4. When there's not water coming out of the machine, empty the container.
5. Place the empty container back underneath the coffee outlet.
6. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.

1. Press the coffee button 3 times in 2 seconds.
2. The machine now rinses with water.
3. The coffee button flashes in orange. When the button turns green, the rinse is done.
4. To exit the descaling mode, push the lever downwards and press the coffee button for 3 seconds.
5. You've successfully descaled.
