When you buy a phone mount for on your motorcycle, you have to carefully check whether the mount is suitable for you. That's why you should keep the following in mind:
- What device do you want a mount for?
- Where do you want to place the mount?
- How do you want to attach your phone?
What device do you want a mount for?
Most mounts are suitable for multiple devices. This is called a universal phone mount, which is suitable for both your work phone and your private phone. If you measure the width of your device, you can check whether your smartphone fits in the mount. The mounts are made for devices with a minimum and maximum width.
Where do you want to place the mount?
You can place a motorcycle mount on your handlebar, on your rearview mirror, or on the ball head of your motorcycle. If you attach it to your handlebar or mirror, you can attach it with a clamp, strap, or screws. A mount with screws isn't easy to take off of your handlebar, but a mount with a clamp is. A ball head phone mount is attached firmly in the center of your handlebar. You do have to measure the width of the ball head on your motorcycle. That way, you can be sure that the mount is suitable.
How do you want to attach your phone?
You can safely place attach your phone to your motor in a separate case, between a clamp, or with an adhesive strip. A clamp is very easy to use, and you can easily take your phone out of the mount. You screen isn't covered this way, so you can control it quickly. The same goes for a phone mount with an adhesive strip. This also means that your phone isn't protected from rain and splashes. A waterproof mount does protect your smartphone from water damage. These are special phone cases you attach to the phone mount, such as on the ball head.
