How do you solve a Samsung dryer error yourself?
Samsung fault tE, tE2, or tE4
It's possible that the lint trap or the condenser of your Samsung dryer is clogged. You clean these as follows:
- Take out the lint trap and remove all large pieces of dust.
- Wipe the slot for the lint trap with a dust cloth and carefully clean the dust sensor.
- Replace the lint trap.
- Vacuum the condenser grill with a vacuum brush.
Samsung error tE5
Error code tE5 means that there's a problem with the temperature sensor of the compressor. Turn the dryer off for 5 minutes and restart the cycle.
Samsung error dE or dF
When you see Samsung error code dE or dF, check if the door the properly closed. There might be laundry caught between the door that keeps it from closing. Put the laundry in the drum correctly, close the door, and restart the cycle.
Samsung error HC or HE
The compressor that provides hot air might be overheated.
- Turn the dryer off for 20 minutes.
- Turn it back on and restart the cycle.
- Still not working? Turn the dryer off again.
- Press the 2 buttons 'time' and 'mixed laundry' or 'dryness level' and 'mixed laundry', depending on the model.
- Turn the dryer on.
- Release the buttons as soon as the code DE appears or if all of the lights come on.
- Turn the dryer off and on again.
Samsung error 2E
It's possible that the connector isn't plugged in properly or the socket doesn't supply power. To find out if the socket provides electricity, try if a different product does work plugged into this socket. Does that product not work either? Then you know the problem lies with the power supply and not with the dryer.
Samsung error 3E
Error 3E means the motor isn't working. Switch off the dryer and restart the cycle.
Samsung error 5E
Error 5E means the condenser reservoir of your Samsung dryer is full. Empty the reservoir, turn the dryer back on, and restart the dryer cycle.
Error without a code
Do you have an old Samsung dryer without a display or with different buttons? Most likely, a combination of lights tells you what the problem is. Contact Samsung to solve the problem. They'll help you look for a solution.
Error 'empty reservoir' appears
When the light for the water container comes on, the reservoir is full. Remove the reservoir from the dryer and empty it in the sink. When you put the container back and start the dryer cycle, the notification should disappear. Is your dryer connected to the water drain and do you still see this error? Check the manual to learn how you can manually turn off the light. Also make sure there's no loop in the drain hose. In addition, the drain shouldn't be higher up than 1m.
Problem not solved?
Unplug the connector from the socket and plug it back in after 30 minutes. Restart the dryer cycle. If your dryer still gives an error, a technician should look into it.
