The most common errors of Whirlpool washing machines

Your Whirlpool washing machine doesn't get any water or won't start. Resetting the washing machine doesn't help. That's not what you want. We'll list the most common Whirlpool errors. That way, you know what to do for every error code.

Whirlpool error FH, FA, or E1

Whirlpool error FH

Does your Whirlpool washing machine display show the error FH, FA, or E1? That means something is wrong with the water supply. The washing machine doesn't get any water and can't wash any more. Open the water supply completely and check if there's still water coming out of it. Next, check the supply hose. Is there a kink in it? Make sure the water can flow through it and replace the hose if necessary. Switch off the washing machine, wait a couple of minutes, and turn it back on.

Whirlpool error F3, F4, F21, or FP

Whirlpool error F4

The error codes F3, F4, F21, and FP indicate an issue with the water drain. The drain hose or filter could be clogged. Make sure there's no kink or clog in the hose blocking the water. Open the filter in front of the drain pump and collect any remaining water with a bowl. Clean the filter. Turn on the washing machine and check if the error code still shows. No luck? Read about other solutions in the article below:

Whirlpool error F05 or E2

Does the display show the error code F05 or E2? This means there's something wrong with the water temperature sensor. Time to reset the Whirlpool. Switch off the washing machine and remove the connector for 30 minutes. Afterwards, plug the washing machine back in and start it up again.

Whirlpool error F06 or F6

Whirlpool error F06

With an F06 or F6 error, the motor doesn't work. Your laundry will come out of the drum still wet. Some laundry might be stuck. Open the door and gently spin the drum. Take out the laundry that's stuck. Restart the cycle afterwards. Another cause might be that the drum is too full. Take some laundry out in that case. There might also be a problem with the circuit board of the washing machine. In that case, you need a mechanic.

Whirlpool error F7

Whirlpool error F7

The error code F7 indicates there is a problem with the motor. It fails to get to the required speed for the wash cycle. Make sure the drum isn't too full. Also make sure all transit bolts are removed. These prevent damage during transport, but are no longer necessary once the washing machine is installed in your home.

Whirlpool error F13 or F22

Whirlpool error F22

The error codes F13 and F22 indicate a problem with the door. First, check if the door of the washing machine is closed properly before you start it. A buildup of soap, dust, or an overloaded drum may cause the door to not close properly. Wipe the door lock clean with a wet towel or remove some clothes from the drum. Try to start the wash cycle again.

Whirlpool error F18

Whirlpool error F18

Error code F18 indicates there's too much foam in the drum. Thankfully, this problem is easy to solve. Unload the drum and run a wash cycle without soap. This removes excess foam. Make sure you don't use too much detergent in the future. This prevents the issue from repeating itself.
