New: the Samsung Galaxy S24 series
Samsung has released the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. As a result, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus isn't as readily available anymore. Aside from the Samsung S24, the S24 series also includes the Samsung S24 Plus and S24 Ultra. All devices have a powerful processor, so they can handle any task.

First impression of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus
It stands out right away that the Samsung S22 Plus comes in a small box. That's because Samsung doesn't include a charger with this device. You have to buy it separately. I think the device is stylish. That's because I like the color green, and because the camera island blends with the side of the smartphone. Thanks to the matt finish, I don't see fingerprints on the back.

With the cameras at the back, I can take sharp photos, like I'm used to from high-end Samsung smartphones. This device has the new night mode for the wide-angle lens and telephoto lens. this allows me to take sharper night photos with more color in low light than with other smartphones. It stands out that the standard lens performs a lot better in the dark than the other lenses. In addition, if I zoom in 3 times, photos are still razor sharp, thanks to the telephoto lens. I can also record sharp and smooth videos.
Speed
I don't have any reason to complain about the processing power of the Samsung S22 Plus. The smartphone works very fast and didn't slow down once during the week I tested it. This device can also easily handle demanding image editing apps or 3D games. The S22 Plus is also suitable for multitasking. I can switch between different apps very fast.
Battery
With average use, the large batter in the device lasts a whole day. Samsung doesn't include a charger. That's why I used my own Samsung 25W charger. I can use that to fully charge the smartphone in about 70 minutes. Sadly, the 45W charger wasn't available yet during my test. I expect it to take about an hour to charge with that charger. It's a bummer to see the Samsung lags behind some other smartphone brands in terms of charging time.
Screen and size
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is pretty large. Because I'm used to large smartphone, it didn't bother me much when I used it. I can imagine you have to get used to it when you switch from a smaller smartphone. The S22 Plus barely fits in my pocket. Because of the size, it's very comfortable to watch movies and play games. I can see many details on the large Full HD screen. With games and videos, I sometimes miss a sharper Quad HD resolution.
Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus does its name justice as high-end smartphone. The device is very fast and it has advanced cameras with which I can take colorful photos in the dark. The large battery lasts the whole day with average use. In terms of charging speed, Samsung still lags behind other brands. Due to the large size, it's difficult to control the S22 Plus with one hand. The smartphone is suitable if you watch videos or play games regularly, because of the size.
