First impression of the Sony ZV-E 10
The design of the mirrorless camera fits in with the Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras. The camera doesn't have a viewfinder, which makes it very compact. I also think the body doesn't weigh a lot. When I put the camera with the 16-50mm lens on the included grip and hold it, it does feel a little heavier. I don't know if my arm could do this all day, but then again, I'm not a vlogger. Like the camera, the lens is very compact.
Extensive video options
I can easily record videos with this mirrorless camera. The Active Mode has a good image stabilization, so I can record hand-held footage without the recordings being shaky. When I'm moving around, the automatic exposure ensures that I'm properly lit. This comes in handy if the ambient lighting keeps changing while you're recording. I don't have to adjust the settings. Another thing I really like is the S&Q mode. With this mode, I can select the number of frames per second ranging from 1 to 100.
Product Showcase Setting
I'm very excited about the Product Showcase Setting. I am familiar with this function from the ZV-1 Vlog and it works just as well on the ZV-E 10. The focus is accurate and the camera quickly switches between focus points. When I put the product down, the focus shifts back to my face right away. This function is especially for vloggers who review products. Most camera will focus on your face instead of a product, but that won't be a problem with this function.
Live stream during a meeting
Do you have a digital meeting or do you share your videos while you're gaming? Use the live stream function on the ZV-E 10. I find this function very user-friendly. For example, all I need is a USB cable to connect to my laptop. I don't need any software or some other program. This camera is clearly more high-quality than the one on my laptop. If you have an important business meeting, you'll look sharp with this image quality.
Straightforward controls
Sony has made the operation of a couple of settings on the camera and grip easier, so the controls are easy and fast. For example, I can turn the bokeh effect for the background on and off with the C1 button on top of the camera. Next to it is a button that lets me switch between photo, video, and the S&Q function. This is useful when I'm recording vlogs. I don't have to turn around my camera every time to access the menu.
