First impression of the Miele DGC 7151
The first thing I notice is the modern look of the Miele DGC 7151. The oven doesn't have button, so it fits in a sleek kitchen. With a large 76L capacity and the steam function, you can easily prepare a large healthy meal. The oven comes with a baking sheet, oven rack, and 2 steam bowls.
Juicy steak and crispy vegetables
With the Miele MonoSteam steam technology, I make sure my food doesn't dry out when I'm preparing it. The steam spreads across the whole oven interior, so my food cooks evenly. This way, my steak stays juicy and my vegetables retain their flavor and vitamins. Bread also gets a nice crust while the inside is nice and airy. Do you want to prepare a large roulade with steam? It can easily fit in the large 76L oven capacity.
High-end user-friendliness
I often make bites or meals for which I need to add ingredients later or mix it halfway. Thanks to the telescopic rails, that's a lot easier. The rails slide the baking sheets and rack to the front without tipping over or holding them with my hand. I also like the TasteControl option. The oven slightly opens at the end of the program, so the temperature lowers inside it. This way, my food doesn't cook for too long. With the KeepWarm option, my meal stays warm without drying out.
Nice controls via touch butttons
The touch buttons make the controls easy. I can choose a program at the push of a button. The display shows extra information. Via the slider underneath the display, I can set the time and temperature. Because the oven doesn't have dials, it looks sleek and modern. I do have to find out what each symbol means at first.
Controls via the app
Via the Miele app, I can control the oven via the phone. That's useful, because I can see how long it takes before my meal is finished from the couch. When I make an elaborate meal, I can already put the cut vegetables in the steam bowls. This way, I have enough space on my counter. I can turn the oven on via the app when I want to start cooking.
Easy to clean
No matter how much I enjoy cooking and baking, I don't like cleaning. Luckily, the Miele steam oven has coated walls with PerfectClean. Grease and food rests won't stick to this smooth surface. When the oven is cooled down, I can easily clean the interior with a damp cloth. I recommend to do this regularly, because it's a manual task. The oven doesn't do this by itself with pyrolysis, for example.
Conclusion
In the large oven space of the Miele DGC 7151, you can steam meals with a lot of flavor and vitamins. Thanks to the telescopic rails, you can easily take out your baking sheets and oven racks without burning your hands. The controls via the touch buttons work fast. It takes some time to get familiar with the programs and symbols, so keep your manual close at first.
