First impression
It's time to test my first Nespresso. And I'm impressed. The box already shows it contains a nice machine, a milk pitcher, and a trial package of Nespresso capsules. Because the machine is compact, it fits the countertop perfectly and it doesn't take up much space. There's 1 button on the machine and you can easily remove the water tank from the back. I can place the milk pitcher underneath the steam wand.
Start the machine in no time
When you turn on the machine, you can set it up. The touchscreen display explains how to do that step-by-step, like filling the water tank and rinsing the steam wand. When the machine is ready for use, you can choose from 8 preprogrammed coffees. The trial package has enough capsules for lungos and espressos. I choose an espresso capsule and add a milk specialty. I swipe across the display with my finger and choose a café latte. I'm very excited.
Easily make a milk specialty
I fill the milk pitcher with fresh whole milk between the minimum and maximum line. In the meantime, I preheat my cup and I put the capsule in the machine. The machine makes the coffee and froths the milk at the same time. That's nice, because they're done at almost the same time. I take the cup from under the machine and take the filled milk pitcher. I can't wait to pour the milk foam in the cup, like a real barista.
Test the soft milk foam
The milk foam isn't too thick and barely contains any bubbles. I still tap the milk pitcher on the countertop to remove any irregularities and I swirl the milk. It's now time to pour. I hold the spout of the milk pitcher above the cup and bring it closer as the cup fills up. This way, I also pour in the foam layer. The foam layer has a good quality and you see the proportions of the coffee, milk, and foam. Now I taste it. It's a soft and creamy caffè latte.
User-friendly coffee machine
When you turn the machine on, it's ready for use almost right away. You can operate the machine with the touchscreen display. At the top right of the display, you can see a button to preheat the cup. When you click a preprogrammed coffee, the machine will offer you functions to adjust the coffee amount and temperature of your milk foam. At the top left, you can see the menu with maintenance and extras. The 1.5L water tank lasts a while without refills. After you used 12 capsules, empty the container.
Maintenance
After you make a caffè latte, the steam wand cleans itself right away. I wipe the steam wand down with a cloth, so I remove all milk residue. The maintenance menu is at the top left. It indicates how much time and what you need per cup. It takes 10 minutes to thoroughly clean the steam wand. For the best result, it's smart to do this daily.
Conclusion
I'm very happy with the Nespresso Sage Creatista Pro. The machine is a nice addition to your kitchen. The program makes it very easy to make a coffee. With the pre-programmed coffees, you can take a sip of your caffè latte in no time. The automatic steam wand froths the milk so it exactly fits your chosen hot drink. You can adjust the temperature of the milk of the amount of coffee, if you want. This allows you to fully customize your coffee. Keep track of the maintenance, because it's best to spread it out. If you clean all the parts at once, it'll take a lot of time.
