Expert review of the Logitech G935

The first thing I notice when unboxing the headset is the material used. The ear cups and the head cushion of the G933 were made of synthetic material. That material has been replaced with luxurious leather. And this works out well. Not only does the headset look nice, it also fits better. After wearing the G935 for a whole day, it still feels comfortable. That is something you should expect from a headset like this.

The G933 had a volume button, 3 macro keys, and a mute switch for the microphone. You can still find these on the left ear cup and that feels familiar. By pushing the macro key once, I can fire up Apex Legends and switch on the microphone. There is no keyboard involved, which is very useful. Much like the G933, the scroll wheel is a bit big, but it works as intended. It doesn't scroll too light or heavy, but just right.

Logitech promises better sound than 7.1 surround sound with DTS Headphone X 2.0, the latest feature. How does this sound in practice? Well, it's very similar to any headset with 7.1 surround sound. Definitely better than stereo sound, but I can't really hear the difference between 7.1 and Headphone X 2.0. The sound quality is very good, but the added value compared to 7.1 is minimal. So it sounds better on paper than it really does.

Just like the G933, the G935 is customizable. Whether I want bright pink or poison green, it's all customizable. Via the Logitech G HUB software, you can set whatever color you like the most. And the macro keys on the left ear cup? Those can be set up here as well. You also have the possibility to set audio preferences for specific games if you want. I find this very useful.

The microphone is also at the familiar place. Virtually invisible on the left side, but easy to fold in and out. On top of that, the microphone automatically goes on mute when I push it up. But how do I sound? My team says I'm clearly audible during a game of Apex Legends. Even during intense gun fights. Just like the G933, the G935 really impresses in this area.

You get the most out of this headset when you use it in combination with the Logitech G HUB. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't use this headset on consoles. Whether you have an Xbox One, PS4, or Switch, the G935 works with all devices. Much like the G933, you don't get surround sound when using this headset with consoles. That's a shame, but it applies to more headsets. As far as I'm concerned, the G935 gets away with this.
