First impression

First impression

When I see the Canon EOS 4000D, I think it's a SLR camera that doesn't stand out. The camera looks user-friendly. It doesn't have many complicated features. It's also a nice and compact device. I can see myself taking the camera with me on my next trip.

Compact

Compact design

A lightweight camera which you can take anywhere

The device barely weighs half a kilo, so it's correct to call it a lightweight camera. I can easily hold the camera in 1 hand when I take photos. The rubber grip at the front also helps. It's a device that you can easily take anywhere. This way, you don't have to miss a photo moment. A disadvantage being compact: the LCD screen is pretty small.

Creative

Creative photos

Take creative photos with the various settings

This is a good camera for beginner photographers who like to be creative. That's because the camera has various creative modes. I'm especially happy with the 'Creative Auto' mode. With this mode, I can choose the ambience of my recordings. I can choose between vibrant, soft, warm, and intense, for example. The camera automatically adjusts the settings. It's also a nice setting for culinary photography, so I can take nice food photos.

User-friendly

User-friendly

Easy navigation through options and clear explanation

After a few recordings, I notice that the camera is user-friendly. I can already use SLR cameras pretty well, but this device is very suitable for beginner photographers. The number of control buttons is limited. It's also pretty easy to find the right settings. In addition, the camera gives a good explanation for the various modes. This way, you learn something about photography when you take photos.

Image quality

Image quality

No optimal image resolution, but Full HD videos

The only downside of this camera after the first test seems to be the image quality. The sensor is pretty small compared to other models. With the 18-megapixel sensor of APS-C size, I took nice photos with enough detail. If you prefer an optimal image quality with a large photo resolution. this isn't the camera for you. It's nice for beginner photographers. You can record in Full HD, which is relatively good.

Conclusion

This camera is suitable for beginner photographers. It starts at the size: the camera is nice and compact and lightweight. You can easily take it anywhere. In addition, I discovered that the device gives a good explanation for all modes. This way, you don't have to look for the right settings for your photo for a long time. The only downside is that you don't have an optimal resolution with this device with the relatively small image sensor.
