First impression
I have known for some time that SLR cameras do not have to be big. This is also a nice compact camera where everything seems to be up and running. The device is lightweight and lies comfortably in the hand. The camera does not look too complicated either. The number of buttons is limited. In addition, it is immediately visible what they are for. I am very curious about the user-friendliness of the device and the different possibilities.
Compact design with sufficient choice in settings
Like most SLR cameras, the camera is comfortable to hold. Thanks to the relatively light weight and the rubber grip, I can easily hold the camera with one hand. Even though the device is compact, it isn't short on settings. It has all of the buttons I usually use. The screen is also large enough for me to have a close look at my footage. The only thing is that I can't tilt the screen, but that seems to be the only disadvantage for now.
User-friendly controls
When I'm taking photos, I notice that I can find all of the settings very easily. I can tell almost right away what each button does. It possible to adjust most settings via the buttons. If that's not the case, you can use the camera menu. In my opinion, novice photographers can learn a lot from the user guide that explains the settings. It's also very useful for the different modes, so you know exactly what you can use them for.
Many creative modes
This device is ideal for creative photographers. It has plenty of modes that make taking a photo with special effects a piece of cake. The culinary mode is what stands out to me. This camera mode ensures an optimal result for food photography. Definitely a nice extra and particularly suitable for Instagrammers who like to take photos of their food. The camera also offers enough creative options for advanced photographers via the manual modes.
Sharp images
Thanks to the 24.1-megapixel sensor with an APS-C format, my images are detailed and have lively colors. The camera focuses accurately. Since it only has 9 focus points, I didn't manage to focus properly on a small subject. I can record in high quality, namely Full HD. I though the Snapshot mode was a fun video option. It allows you to record short videos that you can combine into a daily overview afterwards, for example.
Conclusion
I think this device is suitable for both novice and advanced photographers. The camera is compact, and it only has a few buttons, so you can easily get started. The guide help to understand the functions of the device well. Thanks to the manual settings, I could take photos with my own creative input. I'm also very happy with the quality of my photos and videos.
