First impression of the Apple iPad (2021)
When I take the Apple iPad (2021) out of the box, I'm sad to say that I don't see any changes. The look is identical to that of its predecessors from 2019 and 2020. It has the familiar home button. thick bezels, volume buttons, and lock button. The box also includes a USB-C to Lightning cable and a 20W charger. The iPad comes in 2 colors, Space Gray and Silver.
Multitask extremely fast thanks to the A13 processor
One of the most important changes is that the iPad (2021) has the faster A13 processor. I notice this difference when I use the tablet. Apps open very quickly and it doesn't take long to load. I can also switch between different apps extremely fast. This is very useful if you use multiple apps at the same time.
FaceTime in high quality
The Apple iPad (2021) has a 12-megapixel selfie camera with a wide-angle lens. This is a clear improvement compared to the iPad (2020), which ahs a 1.2-megapixel camera. I notice this when I make video calls. The quality is good, and the colors even look bright with little ambience light. The so-called Center Stage camera technology is a nice new function. When you FaceTime, the camera always stays focused on you by automatically moving the video frame.
Bright colors on the 10.9-inch screen
The 10.9-inch screen uses the True Tone technology. The brightness of the screen automatically adjusts to the ambient light. I can experience a bright color representation as a result. The screen size is large enough for me to watch movies and series comfortably. I can also easily use 2 apps at the same time on the screen thanks to Split Screen.
More options with accessories
The iPad (2021) is still compatible with the Apple Pencil 1 and Smart Keyboard. So you can easily use the tablet for work or school. I can use the Pencil 1 to make quick notes in documents, for example. I can easily connect the Smart Keyboard thanks to the Smart Connector. After that, I can type long reports and emails on the physical keyboard.
Conclusion
The Apple iPad (2021) is a nice basic tablet and it's suitable for many usage situations. I think it's a shame that the design hasn't changed, but the powerful A13 processor makes up for it. If you add accessories, you can use the iPad (2021) for school or work. In addition, you can make video calls in high quality thanks to the improved camera and Center Stage camera technology.
