What can you do in Hogwarts Legacy?

On the website of the Wizarding World, you can create your own Harry Potter portrait. This website is linked to Hogwarts Legacy. Create an account, do the Harry Potter test, and check to which house you belong. In addition to your house, you can discover your Patronus and you'll get your own wand. Link your account to your Hogwarts Legacy and receive a special in-game robe. You'll only receive this robe when you linked your account.

The first leak of the Hogwarts Legacy indicated that the game would appear in 2021 for the next-gen consoles. In 2021, the Harry Potter game was postponed to 2022, because they needed more time to perfect the game. On 12 August, the game was postponed again, this time to 10 February 2023. On this date, you can get started with your own character in the Harry Potter world on the current gen console. The release date for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has moved to 5 May. The release for the Nintendo Switch has moved to 25 July.

On next-gen consoles, Hogwarts Legacy is a bit more magical. The DualSense controller works together with the game in a unique way. For example, the lightbar lights up in different locations. There colors match the style of your house, for example. The triggers of the controller also respond to various spells during intense battles. For each spell, you'll feel a different haptic feedback. The SSD of the PlayStation 5 makes sure the loading times are short. No matter if you fly around on your broomstick, or travel via the Floo Network.

There are a number of spells we know are definitely in the game. In various gameplay clips, we saw spells like Protego, Lumos, Accio, Reparo, and of course Expelliarmus. And it doesn't stop there. In the gameplay, you can also see that it's possible to burn people with Incendio or kill them with Avada Kedavra. This means that you can choose to kill beasts and people in the game.

You'll encounter magical creatures during your travels in the Wizarding World. Visit new and famous locations, like the Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade, and the Gryffindor student's dorm. We don't know yet which locations are in the game, but we expect to see all famous locations. The Room of Requirement and all student's dorms will play a large role in the game. The area around Hogwarts changes during the game. Watch out where you go, because you might just walk up a dark path.

In addition to attending classes and using spells, you have access to a collection of upgrades, talents, and skills. These will help you during your progress as wizard. Complete challenges and earn skill points. Upgrade your talents to improve your skills, like spells, plants, and potions. Choose which talents suits your playstyle best, so you can focus on your favorite magic. You can also choose how to approach a situation. But keep in mind that your choices have consequences.
