Eufy: with base station, but without subscription
With a Eufy doorbell, you won't have to worry about extra costs. That's because you don't need a subscription. Eufy doorbells are always connected to a base station, or to a WiFi Chime in case of the Battery Slim. You can connect the base station to your router via an Ethernet cable. The base station has an SD card on which the footage is being stored. Do you want extra storage? You can buy storage in the cloud with Eufy for a fixed amount per month. For functions like a motion sensor and smart notifications, you don't have to pay extra fees.
Ring: the most common smart doorbel
Ring will most likely ring a bell with most people. Ring is part of Amazon, which is why it works together with Amazon Alexa. This means that you can't connect this doorbell to other smart assistants. You can talk live to visitors via the Ring app. Do you want to be able to save and view back footage too? Choose a Ring Protect subscription. And if you also want to hear the doorbell inside your house, and not just on your phone, you should connect the doorbell to a Ring Chime.
Google Nest: your entire house smart with Nest
Google Nest products are ideal when you build your smart home around Google Home. Do you already have a Nest Hub? You can view live footage from the Nest Doorbell on the screen. In addition, you can use a Nest Hub or Nest Mini as a chime. That way, you'll always hear if someone is at the front door. If you want to be able to save footage too, you can pay a monthly fee for Nest subscription.
Arlo: everything according to your liking
You can set up an Arlo IP camera entirely according to your own liking. The app offers many different options. You can set motion zones or a siren to scare unwanted visitors. You do have to pay a fixed amount per month to be able to use these options. Without a subscription, you can only use the basic functions. With Arlo, you can choose between the wired or wireless version. Add a chime if you want to hear the doorbell ring inside.
Ezviz: really stand-alone
With an Ezviz doorbell, you won't need a subscription, you can't store footage online, and you won't need a base station. Everything happens inside the doorbell. You'll insert an SD card on which you save the footage. You can also view live footage via the app. If you want to hear an audio signal in your house, choose a pack with Ezviz Chime. Ezviz works with many smart assistants, but not with the Apple HomeKit.
