Which car seat is suitable for your child depends on their length and weight. We'll explain the differences between baby seats, toddler seats, multi-age seats, and booster seats. This way, you'll know which car seat suits your child.

R44 or i-Size car seat

Which group car seat

Since 2013, Europe uses 2 different norms for car seats. These are ECE-R44 and i-Size. ECE-R44 car seats are divided into groups based on the weight of children. The i-Size car seats are divided based on the length of children. That's why we divided car seats based on the average length and weight of children. This way, you can easily find out which car seat is suitable for your child.

Baby car seat

Birth to 1.5 years

Baby car seats are suitable for children from birth until they're 1.5 years old at most. These car seats are also known as a Maxi-Cosi or carry cot, and you can easily lift them out of the car. In addition, you can attach these seats to your stroller with the right adapters.

Group 1 car seat

9 months until 4 years

When your child is too big for a baby car seat, you can switch to a toddler car seat. Depending on the model, you can use a toddler seat when your child is 9 months or 1 year old. Most children fit in a toddler car seat until they're about 4 years old.

Group 3 car seat

From 4 years

When your child has outgrown their toddler car seat, you can switch to a booster seat. There are 2 types of booster seats. There are models with and without a backrest. You can use a booster seat with a backrest from when your child is 4 years old until they don't need a car seat anymore. You can use a booster seat without a backrest from about 6 years.

1 seat for all ages

Multi-age car seat

Multi-age car seats are a combination of all car seats. Depending on the model, you can use these car seats from birth until your child doesn't need a car seat anymore. The first years, you can secure your child with the seat belt harness. When you convert the seat to a booster seat, you can use the seat belt.
